Sockville was awarded BEST CHILDREN’S FILM at the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. The event, sponsored by Cinema St. Louis, hosted a week of St. Louis based film productions – from shorts to full-length features. This is Sockville’s first award since its release last December. The children’s fun and educational show will be featured in the St. Louis International Film Festival this November as part of a special children’s film festival. Sockville producers James Gregson and Patrick Voss are thrilled with the award. They are currently in preproduction of the Sockville series – 13 episodes of the puppet-based show. They will be putting their own twist on educating through fun with the help of professional educators, including environmental and recycling professionals guidance.
Sockville To Host the 2009 Baby-Kid Expo!
Sockville is now the official host of the 2009 Baby-Kid Expo (March ’09). Sockville promises to bring a new level of entertainment to the event with its cast of wacky sock characters and creative fun.
The Baby-Kid Expo is sponsoring the first Sockville bookmark. We’re planning a series of Sockville bookmarks and this one kicks it off. The St. Louis Kids Directory is also sponsoring the bookmark and will be helping with distribution throughout the St. Louis area. 5,000 copies of this first bookmark will be hitting the streets this month, starting with the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase on Sunday, July 20th at noon, at the Tivoli Theatre.
Sockville kicks off the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase
Sockville will kick off the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase at the Tivoli Theatre at noon. This will be the premiere for the Sockville show. Bob Corsa and the Sockville News Network action team will be on hand to cover the event! …Of course, they will be “LIVE” and the first on the scene.
Polly Esther, Bobby Socks, Professor Darning, and Stinky are all planning on attending. My socks are just giddy thinking about it! We’ll be giving away Sockville bookmarks and super secret sock flyers. The Sockville DVD will be available at a special price for the event as well.

This Just In – A New Sockville News Blog
This just in… no wait I just said that.
Sockville has just launched a new News blog called Sockville News Network, did I use the word “News” too many times there? Anyway it’s a great place to learn about Sockville, the creators, events, links, friends, press and… news… and it’s a blog. Actually a news blog, darn I said news again.
Ok, sorry about that. Most of the news you will find here will be much more interesting than this news post. Now all I can think about is the word news and how not to use it.
